Free Narcan at ACL Fest

For the first time in the festival’s history, naloxone, colloquially known as Narcan, will be readily accessible by attendees as a response to fentanyl overdoses becoming the leading cause of death among Americans aged 18 to 45.

The intranasal spray, which helps rapidly reverse opioid overdoses, will be provided by This Must Be The Place, a nonprofit that provides free Narcan to festival goers across the country, aiming to raise awareness and prevent accidental deaths by fentanyl and other opioids.

Keep valuables out of sight

In order to prevent theft, APD Public Information Officer Sgt. Destiny Silva recommended festival attendees be strategic with their valuables.

“Try to put valuables in different locations on your person, so in the event something is stolen, you don’t lose everything,” she said, encouraging those who do have valuables stolen to report them to APD’s non-emergency line, 311, or APD’s online reporting system.

Should items be lost and not stolen, attendees can also go to Guest Services, which keeps a lost and found.
